Accelerated
Reader is computer software program that is used school-wide, 1st
through 8th grade. Students read books from the Accelerated Reader
Lists (see links below) and then take a computerized comprehension
test on the book. Students earn points based on the difficulty level
of the book and the percentage of questions they answer correctly
about the book. Based on the accumulation of these points throughout
their St. Thomas More career, students receive awards during Award
Assemblies after the 2nd and 4th quarters. Comprehension tests can
be taken in the student's homeroom or the library during the school
year and in the library during the summer.
