- Cheerleading try-outs for the 2011-2012 year took place in May of 2011
- We will cheer for one basketball team a week at Saint Thomas More ONLY!
- We will rotate the teams in hopes of being able to cheer for each middle school team at
least once!
- We may also be asked to cheer for other events throughout the school year as well as
enter some local competitions.
- Practices will be held 2 days afterschool from 3:30 – 4:30.
- Students on the cheerleading squad MUST maintain a “B” average and will not
be allowed to participate if she receives a grade below a “C” in any subject!

St. Thomas More Youth Basketball is open to boys and girls grades 3 through 8 who are members of STM Parish or attend STM School. Registration is held on a first come first served basis. Team sizes are limited. Registration in person is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in order to receive proper uniform fit. Practices are once per week for one hour.
Some of the upper grade teams will have extended practice times or an additional day of practice. Schedules will be based on teams registered and will be published shortly after registration has been completed. Practices will begin in October. The season consists of 10 games beginning November 7. Grades 5-8 have an end-of-season tournament.

Parents can earn More Love hours by serving a shift running the Concession Stand at STM basketball games.
Help is needed to work the Basketball Concession stand. THIS COUNTS TOWARDS MORE LOVE HOURS! Games are TBD.

The STM Intramural Youth Basketball program is open to boys and girls in grades 1 and 2 at STM or who are in STM Parish families.
The session dates are December 2, 9, 16, January 6, 13, 20, 27, and possibly February 3 (depending on CMLA tournament). The intramurals will last for one hour with the teams practicing for the first 30 minutes and then scrimmaging for the last 30 minutes. Depending on the number of registrants there will be up to six teams in the league. To accommodate all of the registrants, two, back-to-back sessions will be held each Friday. The first session will run from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and the second session will run from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Teams will rotate with each other in participating in either the first or second session each week.
The cost of this program is $40.00. Registration will be held until Nov 23. Space is limited. Registration forms can be found online at the STM website under “Sports”. Grades 3-8 Registration Form and Waiver
The registration form must be filled out entirely (don’t forget insurance company and policy number) and on page 2 of that form must be signed and dated. In addition, the waiver form will have to be read, reviewed, and signed by the player and a parent. This should accompany the registration form.
