The Extended Care program is available only to the students of Saint Thomas More Catholic School who need adult supervision before and after school. This program is offered to students from Kindergarten through eighth grade, ages 5-14. No transportation is provided, and the program does not take any field trips.
Morning care hours are from 7 a.m. until 7:35 a.m. and aftercare hours are from 3:15 p.m. until 6 p.m., except on Wednesday when aftercare begins at 2:30 p.m. The Extended Care program provides a snack, study hall, planned activities and play time. After school, we stress the “Three R’s”, Responsibility, Resourcefulness and Respect.
A snack is provided every day followed by outside time on the field or in the courtyard. On rainy days, play time is either in the gym or Mulhern Hall. After outside time, all students come back into Mulhern Hall for 45 minutes, and Kindergarten participates in story time or playing games. Grades 1 – 8 do homework or read quietly. Students then have outside time until 6 p.m.
