Adding, subtracting and cracking codes for 3rd graders!

Mister goldfish has been kidnapped! His only way to escape it if you help rescue him! You ar his only hope!

• Save mister gold fish by cracking the codes and solving the math problems. Use an extra piece of paper to show your work!

Process

Now that you know what this web quest is all about its time to get started!

1.  First go to http://www.thursdaysclassroom.com/07dec00/ActcodeA.html and learn how to solve the code. (Hint: there are 25 letters in the alphabet.)

2. Next go to www.xanga.com/drewhrt2 and crack the code using the method that you just learned. 

3. Next solve these problems: 60+90-20-128=___. Once you have found the answer put it in the blank, __nd Avenue. (Example: if the answer was 22 then you have 22^nd avenue.)

4. Now go to Yahoo Maps and type in the answer to the code you first attempted in the city/state box. (Hint: the city is in Georgia.) Find the street with the name of the math problem you solved in number 3 and type it in the address box.

5. Now locate the country club nearest to 2^nd Ave.

6. The kidnappers of mister goldfish left a message behind! It says mister goldfish is at hole six.

7. You go to hole 6 and you see mister goldfish sitting in his bowl. When you go over to him the kidnapper jumps out from behind a tree. He says if you can beat him in 2 games at http://www.aplusmath.com/Flashcards/addition.html then you can have mister goldfish!
