Volunteer
Opportunities
Note: All volunteers must watch the "You Matter" video, available for online streaming or download at the Archdiocese of Atlanta website at their convenience.
Volunteers are an important
part of the educational program at STM School. STM students and
their teachers benefit daily from the contributions of the hundreds
of parents, grandparents, and friends who give so generously of
their time and tremendous talent during the school year.
Regular volunteers
must attend a two-hour orientation that is conducted by the School
Counselor in early September. A Volunteer Application should be
completed as well, so that background screenings can be run through
the Archdiocese. This application is available in the School Office.
Volunteers always work under the direction of STM personnel.
In the “Volunteer
Corner” of the More News (the weekly school newsletter), volunteer
opportunities are listed during the school year. During re-registration,
all parents complete a “Time & Talent Survey” to
indicate ways they can help at STM. This information is used to
match our school’s needs with volunteers. If you don’t
receive the More News or have a child at STM, contact the School
Office for volunteer opportunities.
Following are
some of the ways that volunteers serve and enhance STM School:
lunch and
recess monitors, library assistants, clinic nurses, party planners,
auction workers, classroom aides, office receptionists, guest
lecturers,
Girl & Boy Scout leaders, chess teachers, yearbook staff, PTO
fundraisers, copy room helpers, garden angels, parent workday
helpers,
library angels, Board of Education, Science Olympiad
volunteers and room parents.
