Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers provide tremendous support at Saint Thomas More Catholic School. The students and teachers benefit daily from the contributions of the hundreds of parents, grandparents, and friends who give so generously of their time and immense talent during the school year.

Volunteers serve and enhance STM School in these and many other ways:

Lunch and recess monitors, library assistants, clinic nurses, party planners, auction workers, classroom aides, office receptionists, guest lecturers, Girl & Boy Scout leaders, chess teachers, yearbook staff, PTO fundraisers, copy room helpers, garden angels, parent workday helpers, library angels, Board of Education, Science Olympiad volunteers, Battle of the Book chaperones and room parents.

Regular volunteers must attend an orientation that is conducted by the School Counselor in early September. A Volunteer Application should be completed as well, so background screenings can be run through the Archdiocese. This application is available in the School Office. Volunteers always work under the direction of STM personnel.

As of July 1, 2012 , Georgia Law states that all employees, volunteers and clergy are mandatory reporters and are required to report any suspected child abuse or neglect.
