Almost a year ago, one of our beloved Kindergarten teachers, Cynthia Hardegree, was delighted to find a familiar name on her roster…the daughter of her former high school teacher, Mrs. O! “It was very exciting to run into Cynthia in the kindergarten classroom when my husband and I were on a tour at STM. I think we were both shocked to see each other after so long! It may have swayed my decision to eventually apply to STM. ;) We were very happy that our daughter was placed in her class, and Cynthia’s been such a blessing in her life,” Mrs. O shared.
Mrs. O came to know Ms. Hardegree well in high school as both her Pre-Calculus and homeroom teacher. Mrs. O remembered, “Cynthia was also a blessing in my classroom. She was a great student, hardworking, mature and so kind. Of course, teachers don’t have favorites, but if we did, she’d be on the top of the list. I also had the pleasure of watching her perform beautifully in The Nutcracker. I think I could’ve predicted back when she was 17 that she’d be a great teacher who’d touch many lives one day.” We couldn’t agree more, Mrs. O! This heartwarming reunion at STM reminds us of the profound and lasting impact teachers have, as they shape the minds and futures of their students.
