STM Parish

St. Thomas More Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. It is sponsored by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) and staffed by Jesuits and their lay colleagues.

Welcome from our Pastor

Welcome to Saint Thomas More Catholic School, a ministry of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.  Our church parish offers the ministry of our school because we deeply value supporting the religious, spiritual, and integral development of our children.  We are glad to welcome to our school families from our parish and beyond who recognize in STM’s mission the values they desire for their children.

Saint Thomas More is a school in the Jesuit tradition, a history of almost 500 years of education throughout the world affiliated with the Jesuit religious order in the Catholic Church.  In addition to an emphasis on excellence in education, that tradition embodies a spirituality affirming the goodness of God’s creation, laboring in the world, and seeking to care for each person uniquely in all aspects of their human development.  Religious experience and formation are woven through the educational structure along with promoting a dialogue between faith and culture.

I hope that you will find a supportive home and community at Saint Thomas More for your children and your family.

Our Priests

Fr. Bob Hussey, S.J. – Pastor

Fr. Bob grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, studied economics at Louisiana State University and Duke University, and entered the Jesuits in 1989. After ordination to the priesthood in 2000, Fr. Bob served on the faculty at Georgetown University, as pastor of St. Raphael the Archangel parish in Raleigh, North Carolina, and as Provincial of the Maryland Province of the Jesuits. He began as Pastor at STM in July 2021.

Fr. Jim Stormes, S.J. – Parochial Vicar

Fr. Jim came to us from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts where he was superior of the Jesuit community and teaching economics. Prior to that, he was teaching in Nairobi, Kenya. Over the years of his Jesuit life, he has had a great interest in globalization and economic development. Fr. Jim also has had numerous assignments in Jesuit governance, and like Fr. Bob, is a former provincial. He was excited about returning to a full-time pastoral ministry. He is originally from Massachusetts and is a Red Sox fan. Fr. Jim joined STM in September 2022.
