A 100th Day Celebration That Went Viral—Rooted in Faith, Joy, and Community

At Saint Thomas More Catholic School, we believe the most meaningful learning moments happen when faith, curiosity, and community come together—often in simple, authentic ways that leave a lasting impact.
That belief was beautifully on display during our kindergarten students’ 100th Day of School celebration, when a very special guest—a 100-year-old great-grandfather—spent time in the classroom reading with students, answering their thoughtful questions, and sharing stories from a century of life. What began as a joyful milestone celebration quickly became something much bigger.
After CBS News shared this moment on both its national and local platforms, the story resonated with audiences across the country. The CBS Evening News post alone has received more than 730,000 views, while CBS Atlanta’s coverage reached over 115,000 viewers—a powerful reminder that moments rooted in connection and joy speak to people everywhere.
In the video, kindergartners do what they do best: listen with wonder, ask honest questions, and delight in stories that bridge past and present. Viewers also catch a glimpse of what makes STM special. We are a school community where each child is known, learning is joyful, and relationships across generations are deeply valued.

Joyful Announcement: Our Principal for the Next Chapter of STM

Saint Thomas More Catholic School is delighted to share joyful news with our community. Our Interim Principal, Mr. Charlie Seamans, has been appointed as the permanent Principal of Saint Thomas More Catholic School, effective immediately.
Since stepping into the role of Interim Principal in July, Mr. Seamans has been a steady, faith-filled presence on our campus. Over the past months, he has led with humility, clarity, and genuine care for our students, faculty, staff, and families. His leadership has provided stability, strengthened collaboration, and reinforced the joyful spirit that defines STM.
Throughout his four years as our Assistant Principal and this school year as our Interim Principal, it has become clear Mr. Seamans understands our mission deeply and is well-prepared to guide Saint Thomas More Catholic School forward. His commitment to Catholic education, his thoughtful approach to leadership, and his ability to build meaningful relationships across our community have affirmed that he is the right leader for this moment in our school’s history.
This announcement comes at a particularly meaningful time as we celebrate 75 years of Saint Thomas More Catholic School and look ahead to an exciting new chapter. As we honor our past and the many generations who have shaped STM, we are grateful for leadership that will carry our mission forward with faith, vision, and joy.
We are thankful to Mr. Seamans for his faithful service during this year and for his continued willingness to lead our school community. We ask for your prayers for him as he begins this permanent role and as we continue our shared work of educating the whole child in body, mind, and spirit.

Saint Thomas More Catholic School named "Best Private School" for the Second Year in a Row!

The votes are in, and we can't stop smiling!
In our milestone 75th year, Saint Thomas More Catholic School has once again been voted the “Best Private School” winner in the Best of My Decatur/Druid Hills contest, hosted by Atlanta Best Media's My Decatur/Druid Hills Magazine.
After tallying thousands of community votes, readers chose STM as their top pick for outstanding academics, faith-filled community, and joyful learning environment. This marks the second consecutive year STM has received this honor. What incredible recognition of our dedicated teachers, engaged families, and remarkable students.
